The last two days and the last two decades have proved that mainstream Indian journalism is either a laughing stock or an area where those connected to people with great political power gather to influence the masses. It has led people to lose respect and look down on the profession.
As a person who once aspired to be a journalist, all of this shatters me and makes me miserable.
The death of ethical journalism inevitably leads to the death of democracy, and it is a topic that cannot be ignored anymore.
I look forward to hearing what everyone thinks about this, and I hope the outcome of this discussion is, if anything, fruitful.17 January 2021 at 19:40 #2976AnonymousInactiveIt is definitely true and this feeling is omnipresent in India to a large extent. Audiences for esteemed blogs and journalism are present but many(not all) of them ignore spreading the word with one’s parents or peers, fearing the judgment of liking and aspiring to take steps to make it a carrier, according to them, a weak and undesirable platform. Creativity behind the minds of the Mahabharata or the Ramayana is worshipped but the same aspect of that creativity being a job won’t. This is what I surmise the problem is, according to me.

Look at what happened to Kishorechandra Wangkhem, Paojel Chaoba and Dhiren Sadokpam in Manipur very recently, to say nothing of the notorious murder of Gauri Lankesh. Journalistic integrity will get you killed or arrested.
Setting the picture straight requires heroes. Who will be willing to sacrifice big.

Now journalists are the suppliers, but they supply what the people (viewers) demand. So journalists changing alone is not going to do much, because if people want “Justice for SSR” you cannot give them “Hathras”. And if you still give them what they have not asked for, you will lose viewers. A change in supply can only be created by a change in demand.

They have already taken down two of his YouTube channels.29 January 2021 at 08:24 #3166AnonymousInactiveYes, he is facing a lawsuit because he exposed white hat Jr and most of his social media accounts were suspended so he went to YouTube where he is exposing these things in his 3rd channel. That is just plain attempts at covering up the truth. I think another person like him also faced charges
