Raining Inkdrops

Up the rooftops, down the lanes,
On the sunlit window panes,
Splashing in the twinkling stream,
Washing down the youthful neem,
Since last midnight till teatime
Raining inkdrops, raining rhyme.

Through the playhouse gold and red
Wrapped in pillows on the bed
In the attic, on the yard
Coming down in torrents hard
Mixing crazy and sublime
Raining inkdrops, raining rhyme.

On the city’s busy street,
Far where blue seas and skies meet,
Dancing in the pools of light,
Up where swallows take their flight,
Unheard bells where always chime
Raining inkdrops, raining rhyme.
