The regulars at the McGuire’s Clocks shop aren’t who you’d expect.

In fact, they’re not really customers at all.


Meet Ian, apprentice clock-fixer at the oldest clock shop in all of Texas, and resident Master of Awesomeness.

The place is like Kes$a’s wildest dream, and was the inspiration for her hit single, TiK ToK.*

As my sister and I peruse shelf after shelf of cuckoo clocks, 200 year-old grandfather clocks rising high over our heads on either side, we keep giggling as we find mouse after mouse hidden throughout the store.

No, not live mice.


Yes, adorable, marble-sized porcelain mice no bigger than your thumb- complete with cute painted grins on their faces.*

*For the record, live mice are cute too as long as they don’t bite you and give you rabies.
